LAKESIDE DRAGON BOAT REGATTA

Compete for the honour of your organisation and raise funds for young people in South Lakeland.

Lakeside Dragon Boat Regatta is an annual event for families, friends and organisations. It is run jointly by the Rotary Club of Kendal and YMCA Lakeside to provide funds for local children and young people to spend more time in the outdoors.

Dragon Boat Racing is a high-energy, adrenaline-fueled water sport. Teams race in long, ornate boats, each featuring beautifully carved dragon heads and tails. Up to 16 paddlers sit in pairs, paddling in unison to the beat of a drummer, while a professional helmsperson steers from the stern. Races cover distances of approximately 200m, requiring both power and precision.

Entry Fee
£35 per person in boats of 17 people or £595 per boat. Places are limited. To reserve a place, a non-refundable deposit of £170 (£10 per crew member) is payable when booking. Full payment to be made by 10 May 2025. Entry fees are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by the organisers. Early bird entry before end of January of £550.

Sponsorship
Each boat entered is expected to raise a minimum of £600 in support of our good causes. Crews must establish a Just Giving page before entry to support their fundraising.
